Scalp Care for Men Who Sweat Easily | Part 1: How to Shampoo Properly
Living in Ho Chi Minh City means dealing with heat and humidity almost every day. For men who sweat easily, the scalp can become oily, sticky, and uncomfortable, especially toward the end of the day.
If you notice scalp odor, oily hair, or a sticky feeling even after shampooing every day, the first step is to review how you wash your scalp.
Start with a thorough rinse before shampooing.
Use lukewarm water to thoroughly wet both your hair and scalp. This helps remove sweat, dust, and surface dirt before applying shampoo.

Next, focus on washing the scalp rather than only the hair.
Use your fingertips gently and pay particular attention to areas where sweat and oil can build up:
• Around the ears
• Nape of the neck
• Back of the head
• Crown
• Hairline
There is no need to scrub aggressively or use your fingernails. Gentle, thorough cleansing is more important.

After shampooing, rinse your scalp carefully.
Shampoo residue can remain around the ears, nape, and back of the head if you rinse too quickly. Make sure water reaches the scalp and rinse thoroughly.
For men who sweat easily, scalp odor is not necessarily caused by sweat alone. Sweat, sebum, dead skin cells, and microorganisms can all contribute to scalp odor.
Instead of simply shampooing harder or more frequently, start with the basics:
