A wet-look reference describes an appearance, not necessarily hair that remains physically wet. If that is the finish you admire, ask the barber to explain how the effect is created and how it feels once ready to wear. Check both before deciding it suits you.
A practical question to answer before the service
Japanese and Western barbering include many interpretations of polished styles, so the photograph is a starting point rather than a complete instruction. Describe the degree of shine and separation you prefer. You may like only part of the effect. Understanding the process helps you avoid trying to keep the hair damp at home when the intended result actually depends on a particular preparation and appropriate product application.
Bring one or two reference photos and explain what is difficult on a normal workday: straight hair that does not move, sides that expand, a flat top, a fringe that will not flow, or a routine that takes too long. A useful consultation connects the visible shape to the time, tools and products you actually use.
