Hot Towel Shave Sydney CBD: Checking Facial Hair Before Adding a Scented Finish
Ryunosuke Kano

If your beard products have a noticeable scent, that can be part of what you associate with a finished grooming routine. Before a hot towel shave, explain whether you want a product finish at all. You may prefer to assess the remaining facial hair before anything is added.

A practical question to answer before the service

Ask what the finishing product is intended to do and follow its individual directions. At home, keep appearance and fragrance preferences separate when deciding whether you like the result. A beard can be arranged in a way you enjoy even if the scent is not your preference. Making those distinctions gives the barber more useful feedback and helps you choose a simpler routine based on your own priorities.

Bring one or two reference photos and explain what is difficult on a normal workday: straight hair that does not move, sides that expand, a flat top, a fringe that will not flow, or a routine that takes too long. A useful consultation connects the visible shape to the time, tools and products you actually use.

Service and booking guide

Standalone facial shaving is AUD60. The Signature Grooming Course is AUD150, with a first-visit price of AUD120, and includes consultation, haircut, shampoo and scalp cleanse, hot towel, Japanese facial shaving, shoulder and neck massage, and styling. Confirm the scope you want when booking.

For a Sydney CBD appointment, allow enough time to reach Suite 5 on Level 1 of the Dymocks Building, 428 George Street. The location is convenient for people planning a visit around Town Hall, George Street or the central business district, but use the complete suite and floor details rather than relying only on a “near me” result.
