Before your facial hair is groomed, demonstrate the direction in which you normally comb it. Some people comb downward immediately after washing; others lift the beard before letting it settle. Neither habit can be assumed from a photograph of the finished face.
What to discuss with your barber
Explain whether you intend to continue that routine after the hot towel shave. Ask to check the final result using a similar combing direction, so that you recognise the appearance you will see at home. Keep the demonstration gentle and simple. The objective is to communicate your normal presentation, not to pull every hair into alignment. Consistent handling also gives you a clearer reference when deciding whether anything needs adjustment on your next visit.
