Should You Bring Your Own Styling Brush to a Sydney Barber Appointment?
Rika Kano

If you have struggled to repeat a salon finish, bringing the brush or comb you actually use can make the conversation more concrete. Ask the barber to relate the demonstration to that tool.

What to discuss

Explain how you currently use it and point to the stage where the result changes. Is the fringe being pulled too far forward, the top being flattened or the side being arranged in the wrong direction? A specific demonstration is more useful than deciding the tool is wrong without seeing the routine.

Plan your appointment

If the reference requires equipment you do not own, ask for a simpler version. For a perm, discuss the intended movement and how to arrange it using your normal tools. Product recommendations and finishing choices should follow your hair and style rather than a universal equipment list.

Signature Grooming is AUD150, with a first-visit option at AUD120. Confirm any additional services and the total before booking. Written by Rika Kano, HIROGINZA Sydney.
