Growing Out a Buzz Cut for a Japanese Perm in Sydney
Rika Kano

After a buzz cut, the first decision may be what to grow rather than which perm to book immediately. A reference with a long fringe cannot be copied simply by treating much shorter hair.

What to discuss

Show the eventual look you want and ask which sections need more length. Agree on whether the sides should be maintained during the process and what should be left alone. This turns the next haircut into part of a growth plan rather than repeatedly cutting away the length needed for the goal.

Plan your appointment

There is no universal number of weeks that makes every head suitable for the same perm. Growth, starting length and desired movement differ. Ryunosuke or Rika should assess your hair before recommending a technique and current appointment. Iron perms are not recommended on bleached hair.

Perm courses start at AUD250 including haircut and shaving. Confirm the technique, suitability, quote and required time before booking. Iron perms are not recommended on bleached hair. Written by Rika Kano, HIROGINZA Sydney.
