Shaving Included With a Perm: Keeping Facial Hair at a Japanese Barber in Sydney
Ryunosuke Kano

The HIROGINZA Sydney perm course includes haircut and shaving, but your facial-hair preferences should still be discussed. If you are growing a beard, explain which areas you want preserved before the grooming stage begins.

State the boundary in plain language

Say whether you want to keep the beard, retain the moustache or discuss a smaller tidy-up. Point to the areas rather than relying only on a style name. Ask what can be included in your chosen course and agree on the work before a razor is used. The advertised inclusion is not an instruction to remove facial hair you want to keep.

Keep the hair and beard consultation connected

A change in side length can affect how the hairstyle meets your facial hair. Review the sideburn area together with the proposed haircut, especially if a perm will add movement on top. Ask to see the intended transition rather than making an unrelated beard decision at the end.

Confirm the overall service

The perm course starts at AUD250. Ryunosuke and Rika both provide consultations, and the technique should be confirmed before booking. Tell us about previous chemical work; an iron perm is not recommended on bleached hair. If you only want shaving, the standalone service is listed separately at AUD60.
