Why George Street?
When we decided to bring HIROGINZA from Japan to Australia, location mattered.
We wanted to be close to the people we serve.
People working in the CBD.
People travelling into the city.
People meeting clients.
People shopping, dining or spending their day in central Sydney.
George Street is one of the streets that connects all of those lives.
It’s where business, shopping, transport and Sydney’s history meet.
For HIROGINZA, that made sense.
A premium Japanese barber designed for busy people should be somewhere that fits naturally into their day.

HIROGINZA Sydney is located inside the historic Dymocks Building.
For us, opening a Japanese barber inside a building with such character feels appropriate.
Barbering is also a profession built on history.
Tools change.

But the relationship between a barber and the person sitting in the chair remains.
Craftsmanship, service, trust and attention to detail still matter.
There is something special about bringing Japanese barber culture into a building that has been part of Sydney for generations.
